Non-alcoholic Beer

Non-alcoholic beer is a beer style that polarizes just as much as other beer styles from Franconia. The taste is often felt and described as too sweet not "beer typical" enough. The reason that the aroma profile of non-alcoholic beers is less similar to that of alcoholic beers is due to the lack of alcohol, as this is an important flavour carrier. If alcohol is missing, this is often accompanied by a loss of aroma. Exactly in this circumstance lies the art of the Franconian master brewers and brewers worldwide. On the one hand the missing alcohol is the sense and purpose of non-alcoholic beers, on the other hand this main characteristic is responsible for the missing desired taste proximity to alcoholic beers. Brewers therefore have to use different techniques such as dialysis or fermentation suppression to give their non-alcoholic beers the desired taste and body, which should at least come close to their alcohol-containing counterparts. We can say that most of the non-alcoholic beers from Franconia can do this. However, a non-alcoholic beer is and remains a matter of taste, so let yourself be surprised by the various types from our treasure chest.

Alcohol-free beer - really alcohol-free?

The term alcohol-free is actually not always correct. In Germany, a beer may be described as alcohol-free if it contains less than 0.5% alcohol. On average, a beer from Franconia has an alcohol content of 0.35%, so it contains alcohol. However, it must be mentioned: Also commercial fruit juices or for example sauerkraut can also contain alcohol up to 0.5%, so the statement is relativized relatively quickly. During pregnancy you should therefore also avoid the alcohol-free, Franconian delicacy.
