Tradition you can taste!
In Franconia, people celebrate festivals as they come - also in Schammelsdorf, at the Schammelsdorf Beer Days. These have been organized for years on the Whitsun weekend by the local sports club and are an absolute must for lovers of Franconian beers. If you can't make it to this date, a trip to the Franconian Tuscany in Schammelsdorf is still worthwhile. At the foot of the Stammberg there is a wonderful inn, run by the Knoblach family. This also includes - as is still often the case in Franconia - a very special brewery: the Knoblach Brewery. A real family business, where brewing has been going on since 1880 and whose tradition is currently carried on by master brewer Michael Knoblach.
Knoblach Brewery: Finest Franconian beers with a sweetness guarantee
Knoblachs are closely rooted in their Franconian homeland. They value cooperation with regional suppliers and want to preserve the diversity and traditions of the Bamberg region. And so only 1A quality products are used in the beers, which are brewed into wonderful beer specialties according to old Franconian recipes and, of course, the Bavarian Purity Law. There are not many varieties running from the taps, but they taste all the more unique for it. Whether it's unrounded lager, dark lager, Hefeweizen or Räuschla, the legendary Märzen. The taste is sweet and malty, with a bitter finish. A beer with the character to continue drinking. It is not surprising that the name becomes the program for many Räuschla drinkers and that the Märzen beer is affectionately called "fool's beer" in the village. All four types of beer are available all year round. In addition, there are the winter and Lenten beers, which are traditionally served from Ash Wednesday - while stocks last.
Knoblach brewery and pub: an inn where Franconian culture is alive and well
And an inn where every regular guest still has his Krügla. When the first rays of sunshine peak out, the beer garden opens and here, too, it's wonderfully cozy. With homemade snacks and Franconian specialties such as Zwetschgenbames or Gerupftem. And after the meal? Knoblach likes to serve a schnapps or liqueur from its own distillery, which the family runs next to the brewery.
