"Stay true to your homeland, drink Püttner Bräu!" - under this motto, the finest beer specialties have been brewed since 1819 in Schlammersdorf, a village in the heart of the Upper Palatinate and located directly on the Upper Franconian border. In 1862, the Püttner family bought the brewery building and acquired the brewing rights in 1863. More than 200 years later, Püttner Bräu is still family-owned. The historic walls have been renovated, and behind the large glass windows of the modern extension, there is now state-of-the-art brewery equipment: for example, a high-tech bottling plant with bottle inspector, a labeling machine, or a high-performance filler.
Beer specialties brewed the Püttner way
Despite all the technical progress - Püttner brews according to good old craft traditions, including the best ingredients. Only the brewery's own spring water, regional malts, and the finest aroma hops from Spalt and the Hallertau region are used in the beer. Quality you can taste. It is not for nothing that master brewer Johannes Püttner attaches great importance to exceptional taste. Püttner Bräu currently offers a total of ten beer specialties. Among them are classics such as Pilsner, lager, and wheat beer. In addition, there are different seasonal beers. And because the Püttners are also committed to tradition, the old Upper Palatinate beer specialty Zoigl has been brewed again in Schlammersdorf since 2008. What makes Püttner Bräu so special? The brewing team surprises with always new ideas in the glass. We only say Rauschgoldbengel No2, a dark sherry bock that matures for six months in sherry barrique barrels and then for another 2 years in barrels in the lager cellar. Or Rauschgoldbengel No3, the light Cognac Bock, which spends some time in a Cognac barrel before being stored in the cellar. The brewing team's new creations are really something - in terms of brewing technology and taste. Speaking of "in themselves"... Since 1998, Püttners has also been regularly distilling in the schnapps distillery: Beer schnapps, bock beer liqueur, home-distilled herbal liqueur or honey schnapps. In addition, the team has devoted itself to the distillation of whiskey. And who is surprised - the whiskeys are also of outstanding quality and exceptional taste. Those who want to taste can do so in the in-house whiskey cellar. A few years ago, the Püttner family transformed the old vaulted cellar into a whiskey cellar with an impressive ambience. Should have experienced.
"A chair in the Püttner inn is the throne of happiness!"
We can't add anything more to that. In the brewery restaurant of the Püttner brewery, there are delicious snacks, juicy steaks, hearty roasts and much more to make the connoisseur's heart beat faster. Young cuisine" as well, by the way. You can enjoy a Seidla in the cozy brewery inn as well as in the light-flooded and roofed beer garden all year round - with a view into the brewhouse. In summer, the beer garden outside also invites you to take a break.
The Hotel at Püttner Bräu
22 comfortable, tastefully furnished guest rooms in the brewery inn, 14 guest rooms in the guest house about 50 meters away. Those who come to Schlammersdorf can take their time, enjoy and relax. Because you don't have to go home in the evening. In the hotel you are in good hands, there is nothing missing, as we Franconians say. Nice like that.
