Meinel Bräu

HolladieBierfee - this is not only the name of the spelt pale ale, which the master brewers of Hofer Meinel Bräu, Gisela and Monika Meinel-Hansen, together with their colleagues Isabella Straub from the brewery inn "Drei Kronen" in Memmelsdorf and Yvonne Wernlein from the "Brauerei Haberstumpf" in Trebgast 2012, have developed especially for women. We say HolladieBierfee at this point as a sign of our admiration and appreciation for the last remaining private brewery in Hof. Two young master brewers are currently holding the sceptre in their hands. With a lot of passion and new creative ideas, the two siblings Gisela and Monika, in the 13th generation, run the Hof family business, in which the highest quality beer specialties have been brewed since 1731. The fact that two professional women are at the head of a large brewery is rather unusual in the German brewing scene. In Hof, at the northeastern corner of Upper Franconia, no one is surprised anymore. After all, mother Gisela Helene Meinel-Hansen was the first woman to run the traditional Upper Franconian brewery together with her husband a generation earlier.

Typical Franconian beers in top quality

The right beer for every occasion. Meinel in Hof brews typical Franconian beer specialties in excellent quality. Here, craftsmanship meets innovation. Tradition meets modernity. Experience meets creative innovation. The beers are made with local raw materials from controlled cultivation in the region (for which Meinel Bräu received the "Quality from Bavaria" seal of approval from the Association of Medium-Sized Breweries in 1999) - and with the help of the four senses. This is the only way to brew a diverse beer. The younger generation is also convinced of this. Currently, the product range comprises 19 different types of beer. In addition, there are beer mixes, lemonades, juices, spritzers and spirits. Many of them have creative designations, beautiful descriptions and a modern label - all of this makes you want to enjoy. You simply have to try it.

Beer parlor "Trumpeter

Here you can also find out first-hand what real Meinel fans should know about beer types, ingredients, production and taste. The team also has a changing range of national and international bottled beers in its assortment. Just ask the waitress. And if you should ever be on site, we recommend you to take part in one of the wonderful beer events that regularly take place there. By the way, we from here-gibt's-bier.de have completed our advanced training as beer experts in the "Trompeter". We just have to blow our trumpet at this point, because the event was mercilessly good and we will remember it forever.

Meinel's Bas

Whoever visits the third largest city in Upper Franconia - should also stop in "Meinels Bas" in the suburb 13 and take a break. "Meinels Bas" is one of the oldest taverns in Hof, named after Kunigunde Barbara Meinel. In 1861, she had the headquarters of Meinel Bräu converted from a tavern into a restaurant. Today the inn is leased out and attracts many guests in summer with one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the region. A lot of green, a lot of lawn, many trees and in the immediate vicinity of the Saxon Saale - this is a place to be endured. According to old beer garden tradition, you can either bring your own food and get the beer at the bar. Alternatively, there is also an extensive menu - filled with Franconian snacks, "Schäufele", brewmaster's salad, horseradish meat and much more. Even breakfast in the beer garden is possible.
