The Märzen from the Wagner Brewery in Merkendorf flows into the glass in an amber color and immediately whets the appetite for the first sip. The stable, fine- to medium-pored foam crown in the glass rounds off the appearance perfectly. On the nose, malt and notes of grain come to the fore. As expected, the initial taste is malty-sweet with traces of honey and caramel. In the middle part, the initial sweetness is replaced by a spicy flavor and finally develops into a hop tartness, which is rather untypical for Märzen. This makes the Märzen of the Wagner brewery a real specialty within this beer style.
